Employee Spotlight #14: Poshatti Gaddpawar – Associate Director, Technical Consulting & Offnet Procurement

Could you share some insights into your background and how you came to join GCX?

After completing my Engineering degree, I began my career as a Field Engineer with a variety of small companies where I gained hands-on experience by visiting customer sites, resolving fault tickets, and carrying out installations of network devices and cabling work. During this phase, I had the opportunity to work with companies such as Ericsson, CCIL, and Orange Business Services, which gave me a strong foundation in telecom operations.

Later, I transitioned into a Pre-Sales Technical Consultant role at GCX, where I built my expertise in designing network and managed services solutions for customers. To further broaden my skill set, I moved into Vendor Management, which allowed me to combine both technical and commercial knowledge.

I chose to join GCX for its global presence and the opportunity to grow professionally by managing customers and key vendor relationships worldwide.

What motivates you in your role at GCX, and how do you maintain your inspiration?

What motivates me is the opportunity to bridge the gap between technology providers and business needs, ensuring that customers receive real value from every solution. The constant evolution of the telecom industry keeps me curious, learning, and inspired to adapt. I stay energized by collaborating with colleagues, sharing knowledge, and celebrating small wins, which helps me maintain focus and consistently drive business outcomes.

Is there a specific project or achievement at GCX that you are particularly proud of? 

Yes, there are many instances of projects I’m proud of. One example is a project for Hilton where we delivered an end-to-end solution within 24 hrs.  I also take pride in contributing through smaller yet meaningful initiatives, projects like internal cost savings which added direct value to the business.

How do you approach challenges and overcome obstacles in your work?

I take a solution-focused approach. I always approach tasks with a positive mindset, breaking challenges into smaller steps and staying flexible if the first idea doesn’t work. I also lean on collaboration, working with colleagues often brings fresh perspectives and better outcomes.

What role do your colleagues and team members play in your success at GCX? 

My success at GCX is built on teamwork. Colleagues bring diverse perspectives, share knowledge, and provide support. Their collaboration makes every challenge easier and every success more meaningful

Are there any mentors or individuals who have had a significant impact on your career here?

I’ve been fortunate to have mentors and colleagues who guided me with advice and encouragement. At GCX, leaders and peers who share their knowledge have inspired me to keep learning and approach challenges with confidence, Specially Jonathan Wright, Ziad Dar, Wendy Roberts and ex-team mates Frank Kessler and Ugo Miglorini.

How has your role evolved since joining GCX, and how have you grown as a professional? 

My role has evolved from operational vendor interactions to more strategic partnership management. I’ve also gained cross-functional exposure, which sharpened my negotiation, collaboration, and leadership skills while giving me a broader business perspective.

What advice would you offer to new employees or those striving to excel in their careers at GCX?

Stay curious, be proactive, and build strong relationships across teams. Be adaptable, the industry evolves quickly, and always value collaboration, because success here is a collective effort.
