“I love winning new business and using my network to share and spread the positive GCX message”

Could you share some insights into your background and how you came to join GCX?

I’ve had 25 years in the telco space from mobile, fixed, data and voice services. I joined Colt and soon realised service and customers matter, while being led by a great leader in Carl Grivner. After 8 great years at Colt I decided to look for a new challenge and I asked Carl to be a referee and that turned into an opportunity to join GCX and do what I do best, hunt and win new business.

What motivates you in your role at GCX, and how do you maintain your inspiration?

I love winning new business and using my network to share and spread the positive GCX message, I also like to inspire others and help them exceed targets while creating a competitive but friendly sales environment.

What GCX customer example demonstrates how agile GCX are?

The Hilton message and relationship is massive to me, and that message should be the door opener to any/all global new business leads. I hope to deliver many new projects that I and GCX will be proud of in the future.

How do you approach challenges and overcome obstacles in your work?

I try to suggest change that makes those challenges less impactful and remove processes that don’t add value to me or my customers. By suggesting changes, you can demonstrate an understanding of the problem and planning a solution rather than simply complaining.

What role do your colleagues and team members play in your success at GCX?

During the first 3 months I have already met with many great GCX colleagues, and I believe we all share that “Can Do” attitude as we pull in the same direction, and that’s so refreshing. With that attitude we will all be successful as we win as one team, I can’t do this alone.

Are there any mentors or individuals who have had a significant impact on your career here?

Obviously Carl, I’m also inspired by the new senior team members here at GCX and sure over time as we build that relationship I will be equally impressed and inspired.

How has your role evolved since joining GCX, and how have you grown as a professional?

Great question, I feel I’ve become more rounded because I am now taking all my skills in sales and products to build an outcomes driven mindset where I can build and pitch why GCX and what does this incredible service mean to your business. Bringing the security conversation into the mix makes GCX and the outcomes a complete service wrap and not part of a solution.

What advice would you offer to new employees or those striving to excel in their careers at GCX?

Focus on our strengths, look at what we are doing for some large global brands and help build and deliver that “So What” message. Why GCX and why our customers stay with us and what will your business look like with GCX.
